AHIMA eMail Password Configuration for iOS Mail App with MFA

Created by Kevin Schmidt - HCPro, Modified on Thu, 9 Oct at 3:10 AM by Kevin Schmidt - HCPro

Before configuring your AHIMA email account on your mobile device, please review the AHIMA Mobile Device Policy (attachment located at the bottom of this page).

The following steps are for users that have recently enabled the new MFA (Jul-Aug 2021) which has caused disruption in accessing AHIMA emails on the iOS Mail App. Please submit a ticket for set up support if you encounter any difficulties with the steps below.

1. In a new web browser page, go to portal.office.com and sign in with your AHIMA email and password.

2. Click on your profile icon (top right corner) and select "View Account".

 3. On the next window select "Security Info" from the left-hand navigation panel.

4. In the Security Info web page view, select "Add Method".

5. Click the drop-down arrow and select "App Password" to use as an authentication method.

6. Click "Add" and type in your app password name (recommended: AndroidXYZ or iPhoneXYZ) then click "Next". The system will auto-generate a password that you will then need to save.

Note: Be sure to save your password somewhere you can always access as it will not be provided again which will result in having to remove the app password and reconfigure a new one.

7. Click "Done".

Note: Once this is complete you will use this password to sign into apps (i.e. iOS Mail App) that require further configuration due to MFA.
