MANAGING OPPORTUNITY STAGES (SALES PROCESS)
Use the steps below to create a new or update an existing opportunity stage. (reference: ticket #7807)
Overview: Salesforce → Set-up → Platform Tools → Object and Fields → Object Manager → Opportunity → Fields and Relationships → Stage field: Then edit.
1. Select "New" to create a new stage in Opportunity Stages Picklist Value.
TIP: take a screenshot of the original picklist values list for reference.
2. Select "Replace" and enter the old field (exact match) in the first text field then select the new stage that will replace the old field. Next, click "Replace".
3. Confirm the stage names are in the exact order as originally listed.
4. Back in Setup home, go to > Feature Settings drop-down and select > Sales. Then click on Sales Processes (listed below > Quotes).
5. In Sales Process, click on the hyperlinked "Default" to move over the new available Value to the Selected Values view in an original list order match.
6. Confirm the new/updated stage is now listed on the New Opportunity record drop-down view.
