Views in Aptify Applications allow you to centralize data on the Aptify dashboard. If you are unable to view or access data when you click on the drop-down arrow of an existing view, then it is likely a new view must be created. Follow the steps below to create a new view for an Aptify Application.

1. In Aptify, right-click within the Service of any application (i.e. Persons, Orders, etc). where you need to access data and click on Create View.

2. In the General Tab:

  • Name:  A view must always have a name. You will receive an error if you try to save the view without it.
  • View Type: Standard is List View.  You can also create Charts, Pivot Tables, etc.
  • Base View: Choose the best Base View to narrow down results.
  • Description: You can add additional information in the description area to help describe the purpose of your view.

3. In the Filters tab:

  • Service: The default listed will be the service you are currently in.
  • Field: Select from the drop down list which field you want to use as a filter
  • Operator: Date/Time/Number fields use mathematical operators, Text fields use Exactly Matches, Contains, etc.
  • Value: You can enter the value.
  • You can continue to keep adding rows of filter to meet your search criteria.

Show Advanced:  Click on this to add additional operators among the filter lines, such as: (1 AND 2) OR 3

4. In the Fields tab:

  • Add any fields available for the service in your view by moving them from the left column into the right column.
  • Set the sort order by selecting the field and clicking on the arrows to the far right to move them up or down within the list.

5. In the Sorting tab:

Set the sort order of your output view by selecting the available fields from the drop down.

6. In the Paging tab:

  • By default, Aptify sets paging to 250. This will allow 250 records to display per page.
  • Some views generate high record counts. Trying to display them all on one page can make the view load more slowly. Paging helps to alleviate this.

  • You can change how many Rows Per Page to display within your view.
  • Or you can uncheck the Enable Paging box to not use it in your view.

7. Click OK to run the view. The new view will appear below the original application Service.

Edit a View in Aptify

Right-click on the View name and select Properties.

Alternatively, after you run the view, you can select the View Properties button from the menu bar.
