Coding under PDGM

More than 28k “valid” diagnosis codes were not included in the initial list of PDGM primary diagnosis clinical groups. Come see the myriad ways the Coding Center provides visibility into these “questionable” codes so you can avoid assigning them as primary whenever possible. Plus, we’ll show you the other enhancements we’ve made to the application for the new payment model, including how to spot the codes that can generate a comorbidity adjustment to your reimbursement. – Recorded October 23, 2019

FY2020 Code Changes

The new code year will bring with it 273 new, 30 revised and 21 invalidated codes. In addition, the Tabular and Alphabetic Index have hundreds of changes each – with dozens more found in the Index to External Causes, Neoplasm Table and Table of Drugs & Chemicals. Join us for a sneak peek at the Coding Center as it will appear beginning October 1, 2019, and learn how to look up the most significant code changes and where to find key guidance changes. – Recorded September 23, 2019

TBIs & SCIs

Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) and spinal cord injuries (SCIs) often leave residuals that require care after the original injury has healed. When coding these sequela, multiple codes are required and an external cause code, while not required, is a good idea as it provides valuable information to your payer. See how to look up each of these codes on the Coding Center, and learn what rules govern their sequencing and the assignment of the 7th characters. – Recorded June 27, 2019
