Blood Disorders
Chapter 3 of the ICD-10-CM code set captures conditions of the blood and blood-forming organs and cells. For example, anemias, coagulation defects, and hemorrhagic conditions are included in this chapter. Assigning and sequencing the proper anemia diagnosis, in particular, can be tricky. Learn how to locate these blood disorder codes on the Coding Center and what to look for in the documentation so that you are properly sequencing them based on the plan of care. – Recorded August 20, 2020

CVA Sequelae
A CVA's residual deficits may present immediately or arise any time after the stroke. Once the link between the CVA and the patient's symptom is confirmed, you'll turn to the I69 codes. In some cases, a single diagnosis will suffice, but be aware you may need to then look elsewhere in ICD-10-CM to either fully describe the deficit or to identify a confirmed deficit for which there is no specific code. Learn what word combinations will help you pinpoint quickly all the appropriate CVA sequelae codes on the Coding Center. – Recorded June 23, 2020

OASIS under PDGM
Another year, another version of the OASIS. While the change from D to D1 isn’t quite as significant as the change from C2 to D, there are still some updates you need to be aware of – the key among them being the new equal sign response option on 23 items. Join us for a sneak peek at how Coding Center EXPERT will look beginning January 1, 2019, and learn what enhancements we’ve made on the OASIS side in preparation for the new PDGM payment model. – Recorded December 17, 2019
