Complications
While the Guidelines have specific instructions on what is considered a complication and how it must be documented, if those requirements are met, coders must locate the appropriate code and assign it correctly. In some cases a complication is coded as a separate diagnosis, in others it is identified through a combination code and in still others it is reported via a 7th character. We'll share the most efficient ways to look up these codes on the Coding Center and where you can find the key coding and sequencing instructions on the detail page. - Recorded February 22, 2023
Beyond the Basics
The Coding Center includes features and functionality beyond the ICD-10-CM and OASIS search bar and their respective detail pages. Learn how to access additional content that can support you in your daily tasks, plus how to access the content you're familiar with in different, and potentially easier, ways. - Recorded January 24, 2023
OASIS-E
OASIS-E is the most significant overhaul to the data set maybe ever, with 27 new items taking effect January 1. An analysis of the Guidance Manual reveals that every item carrying over from OASIS-D1 will see changes as well. The new data set is already available on Home Health Coding Center to aid in your preparation and training for this massive change. Discover the best ways to lookup items – new and "old" – and where to find the associated guidance both from official sources and our experts. - Recorded December 14, 2022
