Important notice to all users: On October 1, 2017, you will have access to the previous fiscal year’s ICD-10 codes on the Home Health Coding Center!
What does that mean?
If you need to find codes for an episode with a M0090 date of Oct. 1, 2016 through Sept. 30, 2017, you’ll be able to simply select the FY2017 toggle on the Coding Center to do so even after the new and revised FY2018 ICD-10-CM codes go active on the application.
Do I need to do anything to prepare?
Note, however, that the previous year’s ICD-10 codes will be replacing the ICD-9-CM codes. So be sure to transfer any applicable User or Group notes you have on any ICD-9 codes to their ICD-10 equivalents before September 30th.
The “I-9 to I-10 Mapper” still will be available on the home page (see image above) for all access levels above the “Coder’s Chat” box though. So if you’re using that tool, don’t worry, it will be there October 1st and beyond.
And it's not just about the ability to Look Back at FY2017!
Another exciting enhancement to your Coding Center is the hyperlinking of codes for conventions other than Excludes 1 & 2. On current code year detail pages, you'll be able to simply click the linked code in the parenthetical following a Code First, Use Additional Code, or Code Also convention to run a Tabular query.
You'll also find With or Without subentries listed first in both the FY2018 and FY2017 Alpha Indices – to mirror how these terms display in the official code set.
