Troubleshooting: Clearing Your Cache

A browser's cache stores information to help pages load faster. Clearing your cache can resolve problems such as:

  • web pages don't load completely or freeze
  • outdated pages load with old content
  • applications won't respond

Follow these steps to clear the cache on your browser:


Google Chrome

  1. Click Google_Chrome_Customize_Button.png (Customize Chrome)
  2. Hover over History then click History (or Ctrl + H) to open History window
  3. When History window appears, click the Clear browsing data button
  4. When the Clear Browsing Data window appears, select "All time" from the "Time range" dropdown
  5. Check only the Cached images and files box
  6. Click the Clear data button

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click Firefox_Open_Options_Button.png (Open options) button [or Click Firefox_Open_Menu_Button.png to open menu, then Options from the menu]
  2. Click Privacy & Security from left-side menu
  3. Scroll to Cookies and Site Data section, then click Clear Data ... button
  4. Check only the Cached Web Content box
  5. Click Clear button

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click Microsoft_Edge_Settings_and_More_Button.png (Settings and more) button
  2. Click Settings from the menu
  3. Click Privacy, search and services from left-side menu
  4. Click Choose what to clear button
  5. Select "All time" from the "Time range" dropdown
  6. Check only the Cached images and files box
  7. Click Clear now button

Internet Explorer

  1. Click  or Tools > Internet Options
  2. Under Browsing History, click the Delete button
  3. Check only the Temporary Internet Files box
  4. Click the Delete button
  5. Click the Apply (or OK) button
