Home Health Coding Center Expert users can validate their knowledge of the OASIS domains in the CEU Center. There you will find 10-question quizzes covering each of the following:
- Section A: Administrative Information
- Section A: Patient Tracking
- Sections B: Hearing, Speech and Vision AND F: Preferences for Customary Routine Activities
- Sections C: Cognitive Patterns; D: Mood; AND E: Behavior
- Section G: Functional Status
- Section GG: Self Care
- Section GG: Mobility
- Sections H: Bladder & Bowel AND K: Swallowing/Nutritional Status
- Sections I: Active Diagnoses AND J: Health Conditions
- Section M: Skin Conditions
- Section N: Medications
- Sections O: Special Treatments, Procedures & Programs AND Q: Participation in Goal Setting
To access the quizzes, click OASIS Articles from the main menu bar.
Locate the HCS-O CEUs widget on the right side of the page and click the link to navigate to Coursewebs where you’ll find the quizzes you need to pass to earn your BMSC HCS-O CEUs.
Once there, you may need to create a login and password to access the quizzes. In order to earn HCS-O CEUs for each of the 12 quizzes, you must pass with a score of 80% or higher. You will have 60 minutes to complete the quiz, and may retake it until you pass. Once you have passed your quiz, a CEU certificate will be emailed directly to your inbox.
About BMSC's Home Care Clinical Specialist — OASIS (HCS-O)
The HCS-O certification is granted to clinicians who have demonstrated the clinical skills and judgment necessary to assess a patient’s condition correctly and the knowledge to complete an OASIS-E assessment form accurately. Clinicians with HCS-O certification know how to:
- Complete the OASIS-E assessment form
- Document medical necessity
- Make connections between OASIS, documentation and coding
- Measure and report outcomes
